Dweni Ni Mmen: The ram's
horns signify strength of body, mind and soul.
The Adinkra symbol used in the Adjoa Mensah logo is one
of many that are ubiquitous in Ghana. Adinkra symbols
are displayed extensively on textiles, pottery, metal
casting, wood carvings and architecture. They form part
of a rich tradition that can be traced back to the 17th
century. Each Adinkra symbol represents a specific proverb
or saying. Just as Adinkra symbols embody strong non-verbal
communicative and aesthetic values, Adjoa Mensah jewellery
is worn by women who wish to make a statement. |
